Laney has been an senior engineer at two Fortune 500 companies and one MAG 7 company, where he built and deployed AI systems responsible for managing millions of dollars. He brings deep technical expertise- having operated alongside elite talent from global cloud to R&D engineering. He has also contributed to a variety of open-source and commercial software applications.

 

Previously, Laney worked in the data analytics and ML space, gaining valuable experience in all stages of product development. Combined with strong project management and leadership skills, Laney drives innovation and enhances the firm’s capabilities.

Kenworthy oversees the development of our investment strategy, applying first-principles thinking and a balanced approach that integrates macroeconomic insights, fundamental analysis, and quantitative techniques.

 

As the founder and CEO of Kona Capital, Kenworthy brings extensive experience managing investments across public markets, commercial real estate, home building, manufacturing, and hospitality. His strategic vision and financial expertise have been instrumental in driving success across these ventures. His passion for entrepreneurship, combined with interests in geopolitics and technology aid his understanding of systematic risk.

 

Kenworthy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Science in Finance from The University of Oklahoma.
